  • Tracking Your Volunteer Hours: A Quick Guide

Welcome to the Franklin Apple Volunteer Hours Tracker! This tool makes it easy for families to record the time you give to our school community and to see your progress toward the annual goal. This guide walks through the three main pages you will use: My Hours, Log Hours, and the Calendar.

My Hours — Your Household Dashboard

The My Hours page is your at-a-glance dashboard. At the top you will find your Household Information, listing the students in your family and the adult members associated with your account.

Below that, the Hours Progress panel tracks your family totals for the current school year. It shows four numbers — hours logged so far, your target hours for the year, hours remaining, and your percentage complete — along with a progress bar so you can see how close you are to your goal.

Further down, the Contributions by Member table breaks down how many hours each adult in the household has logged, and the All Hours Entries table lists every entry with its date, member, hours, category, and description.

Log Hours — Recording Your Time

When you have volunteered, head to the Log Hours page to record it. Fill out the short form:

    • Date — the day you volunteered (required).
    • Hours — the number of hours, entered in increments of 0.25 (required).
    • Category — choose from the dropdown: Action Meeting, Agenda Meeting, Classroom Help, Fundraising, Committee Meeting, Event Setup, Library Support, Website, or Other (required).
    • Description — a brief note about what you did (optional but helpful).

Click Log Hours to save your entry. It will immediately appear in the Your Recent Entries table below the form, and your totals on the My Hours page will update automatically.

A helpful note: you can delete your own entries within 48 hours of creating them, in case you make a mistake.

Calendar — What is Coming Up

The Calendar page shows upcoming meetings and events where volunteer help is needed, such as committee and agenda meetings, event setups, and school holidays. You can move between months, switch views, and even add the calendar to your own Google Calendar using the Add to Google Calendar link at the bottom so events sync to your personal schedule.

    Getting Started

That is all there is to it! Log your hours as you go, check your progress on My Hours, and keep an eye on the Calendar for opportunities to help. Thank you for volunteering and supporting our school community.
